  What is Memocap 40mg?
   
Memocap 40mg is a dietary supplement that contains ginkgo biloba extract. The extract is taken from the leaves of Salisburia adiantifolia. Ginkgo biloba is traditionally used to improve blood circulation.

  What is ginkgo?
    Ginkgo is a traditional Chinese herb believed to be able to benefit the brain and blood circulation.

  What is the appearance of this supplement?
    Memocap 40mg comes in green capsules, with dark green cap and light green body.

  What type of packaging is Memocap 40mg available in?
    Memocap 40mg is available in blister packs containing 30 capsules.

  Is Memocap 'Halal'?
   
There is no "Halal" certificate granted for any pharmaceutical products. The only animal source in this product is the hard gelatine capsule that is made from pharmaceutical grade bovine gelatine (bone and skin of calves). These capsules have been certified fit for Muslim consumption by IFANCA (Islamic Food And Nutrition Council of America) and have been acknowledged by the Malaysian Islamic Centre.

  What is the recommended dosage for Memocap 40mg?
    You only need to take a capsule 3 times a day, or as directed by physician.

  When is the best time to take Memocap 40mg, before or after meals?
    There is no ideal time to take Memocap 40mg. But preferably make it a habit to take after meals. This is to make sure that you remember taking it everyday.

  Is Memocap 40mg suitable for people of all ages?
   
Yes, it can be taken by both the adults and the elderly. We also recommend Memocap 40mg to teenagers. However, we would suggest children to take either Appeton with Iron or Appeton with Taurine (for the purpose of improving memory).

  How much ginkgo do we need daily?
    Ginkgo biloba is neither a nutrient nor a drug, but a type of herb. There is no RDA for it. However, 40mg three times a day (120mg in total) is often sufficient.

  Are there any adverse reactions to ginkgo?
   
Known adverse reactions include diarrhoea, vomiting and convulsion (in high doses). Other possible side effects include stomach upset, headache, allergy and may prolong blood-clotting time. In rare cases, allergic skin reactions may occur. Ginkgo should not be taken with antidepressant MAO-inhibitor drugs, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (such as aspirin) or blood-thinning medications such as warfarin (Coumadin).

  Ginkgo is believed to benefit the brain. How true is this?
   
Several studies have documented the positive effects of ginkgo on the brain. Ginkgo was able to improve attention, enhance neurocognitive functions and increase memory. Ginkgo may also alleviate some of the symptoms associated with Alzheimer's disease.

  How can ginkgo benefit those with intermittent claudication?
   
Intermittent claudication is the medical term that is characterised by pain (of the lower limbs) which develops during exercise and disappears at rest. This is due to poor circulation in the legs. Treatment with ginkgo has shown positive results.

  What about gingko and cardiovascular health?
   
Various studies have documented the positive results of ginkgo in hypertension and artherosclerosis. It is reported that ginkgo protects the heart by its antioxidant properties and by its ability to cause the dissolution of fibrin (fibrin forms the essential portion of blood clot).

  Is ginkgo beneficial in treating arthritis?
    A study in rats showed that ginkgo may be a potential anti-arthritic agent due to its analgesic activity.

  Can ginkgo protect against cancer?
   
Ginkgo may enhance radiation effect on tumour probably by increasing tumour blood flow. Ginkgo has also shown to have anti-clastogenic effect. Clastogenic factors are found in the plasma of those irradiated accidentally or therapeutically.

  Is ginkgo an aphrodisiac?
   
Aphrodisiac is an agent that arouses or is held to stimulate sexual desire. Ginkgo does not do that. However, ginkgo was found to be effective in treating antidepressant-induced sexual dysfunction, especially in women.

  Can ginkgo treat insomnia?
    Most probably as ginkgo was found to be able to increase sleep efficiency and reduce awakenings. Ginkgo may be beneficial especially in the treatment of the depressive syndrome with sleep disturbance.

  Ginkgo has been claimed to improve our immune system. Is this true?
    Most likely. A study indicated a significantly increased function of lymphocytes with ginkgo biloba extract.

  Can ginkgo benefit the skin?
    Ginkgo is able to protect the skin against free radicals due to its antioxidant and free-radical scavenging property.

  Can a strict vegetarian get complete protein?
    If you are a strict vegetarian then you have to take several of plant origin protein to have a more complete protein. For example, legumes are lack of methionine. Cereals and grains are lack of lysine. Combining different vegetarian protein source, such as eating grain and legumes will result in complete protein with the essential amino acids.
